My First Dermaplaning Facial
Wednesday marked my very first dermaplaning facial. Truth be told, I had never heard of dermaplaning before coming to Millefiori. Even after being informed that it was exfoliation procedure that used a specialized scalpel, I still felt lost and even nervous. Immediately I began to create my own Hollywood horror film in my mind. Fortunately, before my mind completely spiraled out of control, Iris brought me back into reality by explaining further. When we go to the dentist for an annual cleaning, the dentist uses specialized tools to clean the plaque from the tooth surface. Dermaplaning is the same thing for the face!
Having my fears put to rest, I resumed excitement for my facial with Ashley. It couldn’t have happened on a more perfect day. I had been running around like a mad-woman and on my feet all day. It was a special treat after a stressful day of work. The facial began much the same way the Signature Facial had begun… only better. Since my last facial I have been using a couple of the Skinceutical products. Dehydration was one of my main issues, so to address that I began using the B5 gel. To my absolute delight, Ashley told me that my skin looked so much better, completely night and day difference. I couldn’t believe it! Just a month of using the correct moisturizer made such a big difference. When the dermaplaning began, I wasn’t sure what to expect. Would it hurt? Would it tickle? Would it cause a burning or itching sensation? I was happy to find that it did not hurt or cause the least bit of discomfort. It felt like a tiny brush softly going across my face.
The next day under the horrific gleam of fluorescent light bulbs in a public restroom, I looked into the mirror. In that dark, dingy lighting I could fully appreciate the facial. My skin looked amazing!
