How Does Kybella Work?

What to Expect with Your Kybella Treatment?
For all patients interested in Kybella, here at Millefiori, we schedule a complimentary consultation. You will be evaluated by our Physician Assistant and owner, Iris. She will determine if it is right for you. Iris will customize a treatment plan specific to your needs. After the Kybella injection, you will likely have swelling, bruising, numbness or tingling in the injection area. These symptoms are temporary and last from a few days up to 2 weeks. If you have any special events coming up, such as a wedding, be sure to discuss the timeline with your injector.
How Is Kybella Administered?
The treatment can only be administered by a trained professional. After an evaluation,
- The injector will mark the area with a pencil.
- Then a stencil is applied to determine the amount of the medication needed.
- Ice is applied to help with the initial sting of the needle and swelling afterwards.
At each session, you will receive multiple small injections of the medication into the chin area. The injection process takes about 15-20 minutes. The exact number of injections will depend on the amount of fat under the chin and you desired profile.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
Since everyone’s chin profile is different the number of treatments varies from patient to patient. Your injector will help determine how many session you will need based on the amount of submental fat and your treatment goals. Each Kybella treatment is done at least 1 month apart. This allows time for the medication to work and swelling to subside. The average number of treatments patient receive is between 2-4. The max you can do within 1 years timeframe is 6 treatments.
