So, as much as I love my job here at Millefiori – I was hoping to be the lucky Mel Beach Powerball winner this morning. Iris and I thoroughly enjoyed discussing our laundry list yesterday of luxury products we would stock up on if we were newfound billionaires. Unfortunately, somehow my winning ticket got mixed up with someone else’s and I awoke with not a single number correct. That’s ok – even without winning, I know where to stock up on steals and when to splurge – particularly well when it comes to toners and skincare. Did you win a few bucks with last night’s record drawing? Whether you were a winner or not, there are some amazing steals (and a few unbelievable splurges that are worth the $$$) that are on this installment of – steal vs splurge… toners.
Toners, are they really necessary? In a nutshell, it depends (I know- not a good answer – sorry!) Problematic skin usually need toners. Sensitive skin can benefit from the right toners. “Normal” skin doesn’t require a toner but can be added for a boost in product absorption. They carry in strength and formulas and can be the big difference in correcting that oil or fixing the chronic redness – and unlike many products, it doesn’t always come down to the moula.
Oily & Problematic Skin
Steals
Dickinson’s Original Witch Hazel $4 – This 100% natural formula removes any leftover makeup, controls oil buildup, and refines pores for oily skin. Having a mild scent, you will get the squeaky clean feeling and maintain clear and balanced skin with this steal of a toner.
H20+ Seaclear Matte Toner $12- This refreshing toner is formulated with alpha hydroxyl acids to remove dead surface skin cells. It also includes an ultra-fine mineral powder to reduce shine and olive tree leaf extract for a lasting, matte complexion.
Splurges
Skinceuticals LHA Solution $34– Featured at Millefiori – Designed with medicated salicylic acid, it’s triple combination of exfoliating agents to efficiently remove excess residue and surface cell to decongest pores and control shine and breakouts all day long. Best option for all toners.
Aveda Green Science Replenish Toner $39 – This argan oil cream-type toner sounds like it can be heavy, but with the exfoliating properties, leaves the skin tight and refreshed. It minimizes pores and contains aloe for irritated breakouts.
Sensitive Skin

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist $34 – If the product above is slightly out of your price range, try Jurlique. Their philosophy of growing all their ingredients is unlike any other company I’ve worked with and their rosewater is formulated for the most sensitive skin. BONUS: Put it in the fridge for an extra cooling effect.
Normal & Photo-Aged Skin
