3 Reasons Why You NEED Microneedling This Summer!
Summer is around the corner and just like everyone else. I am finalizing my plans for the fun adventures that await! So many of those adventures involve being outdoors and enjoying the warm, sunny weather!
With the sun shining and everyone enjoying the outdoors, treatments like chemical peels get put on the back burner. Instead what I personally recommend is patients treating their skin with microneedling!
Wait… what is microneedling? Only the best natural route to smoother, firmer, and younger looking skin. When we spend time outdoors with excessive sun exposure, the damaging UV rays will age and damage our skin making us appear older than our age.
To fight off that hands of time, many, myself included, are turning to microneedling. The esthetician uses a hand-held device that has a disposable needle cartridge that would pass along the skin, creating micro ‘injuries’ in the skin to trigger new collagen.
With each micro ’injury’ creates a channel that triggers the body to produce new collage. Elastin fills the microscopic wound. Collagen and elastin are the two componets of your skin that gives your skin that normal “plump” look every woman desires. I KNOW I DO!!! Reason 1: Reduces Wrinkles and Fine Lines
As we age, we lose collagen and elasticity to our skin, which causes thinning, sagging skin and facial wrinkles. Starting as early around the age of 30!!!
When a series of microneedling treatments are performed this stimulates the production of natural elastin and collagen that reduces wrinkles and fine lines. Giving the skin an overall tightening to the skin and revealing firmer skin.
Reason 2: Shrinks Pores Size and Oil Production
With the hot summer days ahead of us, so is the oily slick skin!! Thankfully with this controlled treatment, you’ll notice that your pores are smaller in size about 3-4 weeks after the procedure due to the healing effects and shrinking the pores. Reduction of pores leads to reducing oil production on the skin which helps reduce breakouts and blackheads, as well.
Reason 3: Fades Acne Scarring
Another huge benefit to microneedling is the reduction of acne scarring that are notoriously difficult to treat. When you have any sort of scarring on your face your body undergoes a process known as fibrosis.
Fibrosis makes everything stick together, but beneath the skin the glue is so strong that it pulls the skin down. This creates ‘scarring’ on the surface of the skin. With the microneedling treatments, this helps break up all the glue and fibrosis underneath the skin allowing the skin to ‘let go’ of the scarring area, giving the skin a smoother surface.
When dealing with any scarring of the face, this may require a few more treatments than the recommended four just depending on the depth of the scaring. With scarring on the face faded and reduced… that means you’re free to hit the beach with your sun protection leaving your smooth skin to shine through.
