Is it just me or did summer arrive early here in Florida? My most recent day off, I was able to enjoy the gorgeous beach weather; but with that amazing weather comes the heat, the humidity, and the sun! Regardless, I am always making sure my summer skin care is prepped and ready. I couldn’t keep the bags of tips and trick hidden from my favorite peeps of Millefiori, so let me share my golden ticket items this summer.
Hydrating B5 Gel
During the summer, I like to keep my makeup light but that also goes for my summer skin care. A heavy moisturizer will tend to cause my makeup and skin to get shiny before the 2 o’clock energy crash. Thankfully I found Skinceuticals Hydrating B5 Gel!!
Some of our guest at the office call this the “Face Juice” haha because it’s THAT good! The oil free hydrating serum is developed with vitamin B5 combined with hyaluronic acid that not only replenishes the skins moisture but it also restores the radiance for a smoother complexion. What is hyaluronic acid?! It’s your body’s natural hydrator that helps binds moisture to the skin. This gel absorbs into the skin so quickly just like water – only need about 2-3 drops for the whole face leaving your skin hydrated and ready for the day without the heavy feeling!
Physical Matte SPF
Even though I’m a makeup artist/skin care therapist, there are days I love to let my skin breathe, don’t get me wrong. I looooove makeup but I also enjoy a bare face. On days that I am running around not seeing clients, I turn to my tinted sunscreen.
This little nugget is actually a mattifying sunscreen that physically blocks the UVA/UVB rays while still maintaining matte finish during the hot, humid summer days. I love how it helps smoothes my skin texture while minimizing my pores with the powder finish; many of us in the office actually use this spf as a primer in our makeup application process! The mousse texture has color spheres that help provide a tint that is universal for all skin tones, leaving skin still looking healthy with a light coverage. Ohhh here’s the real bonus part…. It’s protecting your skin from the SUN! And we all know how important it is to wear your spf daily!!
Physical Eye UV Defense
Did you know… they even have it in an eye format!!! Eeeeee, I have horrible dark circles that in my mind has me feeling some sort of monster way sans makeup. The skin around our eyes is thinner and more sensitive, so applying certain items there can be too heavy or move around.
This matte eye spf is very similar to the matte spf but with the neat formula of non-migrating around the eyes avoiding any irritation. It’s completely safe to use from the brow bone to the cheek bone, including the eye lid so another great product that can act as a primer before makeup as well. It even nourishes the delicate skin around the eyes! I used both these products last Monday during my day off.
I could throw just these three items on and still feel great to grace the world with my face.. haha. A year or two ago, I did not have the confidence to step out the house without a full face of makeup because I was trying to cover up a lot of skin issues, but thankfully I have overcome those battles with my skin care treatments and the products. My goal is to wear less face makeup and I’m on a great path with these little goodies. They are all super light and breathable during the Florida heat which can have some of us feeling like our face is melting! Here’s to enjoying the rest of summer 2017 with healthy skin!
