Wait, What is a Medical Esthetician?

What exactly is a Medical Esthetician?

I recently graduated from Esthetician school and I am a full time Medical Esthetician at Millefiori! Yay *happy dance* it’s been an incredible journey. Lately many have asked me “WHAT IS A MEDICAL ESTHETICIAN?”

I want to Explain it so everyone can see why I am so excited about my new journey! The dictionary definition is “an esthetician is a licensed skin care professional that performs detailed skin evaluation, treats the face, neck and décolleté, offer makeup artistry, removes facial and body hair”

However in simpler terms, I am a skin care therapist and personal trainer for your skin! I’ve always had a special interests in the esthetics of skin care and makeup. I love how confident a person can feel with great looking skin.

Why a Medical Esthetician?

Everyone is born with one face and we wear it every day, so why wouldn’t you want to invest and take care of that face? When patients come to Millefiori to see me for skin care help, they receive treatments that benefit their skin health. While also receiving skin care education and knowledge from their Medical Esthetician.

We always start the treatment off with finding out what concerns or changes are going on. Every treatment is customized to every patient and their needs. Upon checking out, the Medical Esthetician prescribes a skin care regiment and next treatment to achieve the skin care goals.

What Can We Do?

Medical EstheticianParts of our treatments include a facial massage, who doesn’t love a massage?! Facial massages are important to maintaining healthy skin. The massage helps relax the facial muscles, stimulate blood flow and lymph circulation making your complexion brighter!

Reduces puffiness, sinus congestion, helps muscle tone, activates sluggish skin and softens sebum which helps cleanse the skin of impurities. To the average person, it may seem we are just rubbing your cheeks and slathering on creams but there’s a method to our madness.

Refining texture of the skin and contributing to cellular regeneration which prevents the skin from looking aged before its time, which is what we ALL are trying to achieve. Keep the youth alive!

Medical Side

More on the clinical treatments performed by the medical esthetician are chemical peels, deep pore cleanses and microneedling. When performing a chemical peel, the goal is to battle acne or pigmentation. Both stubborn plagues have danced all over my face over the years. Thankfully I put my skin health in the hands of an esthetician 😉

We also perform microneedling, also known as collagen induction therapy that helps correct texture, fine lines, and acne scarring and even pore size.Medical Esthetician

Once the patient has been treated with a series of the desired procedure, they maintain their skin health with facials.

The estheticians at Millefiori also offer various add ons such as brow styling, facial hair removal with hard wax, and mechanical exfoliation with dermaplanning, c02 treatments and even eye zone treatments to help those eyes stay youthful! On top of all that, we are continuing to grow our knowledge of skin care with staying up to date on the trends and new procedures to keep faces beautiful and healthy. So don’t wait until it’s too late to turn back the hands of time. Schedule your complimentary skin care consultation or next treatment and put your skin in good hands.

Everyone deserves to love the skin they’re in!
